Things to Do in Carlsbad

Agua Hedionda Lagoon & Discovery Center
Agua Hedionda Lagoon is a watershed and saltwater wetland where you can enjoy many different recreational activities including boating, wake boarding, skiing, windsurfing and more. The lagoon is home to the Hubbs/Sea World White Sea Bass Hatchery and Carlsbad Aquafarm. and the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Discovery Center is dedicated to education and outreach.

Beaches

The year-round mild weather makes Carlsbad one of the best beach-going areas all year round. There are seven miles of sand, surf and fun for all. Carlsbad beaches include:

Carlsbad South Ponto Beach — This is one of the widest beaches in the country and is located in an undeveloped area. It is a popular family destination and is one of the few area beach that offer public restroom and showers.

South Carlsbad State Beach — This is a favorite for all sorts of beach activities including swimming, surfing, skin diving, and more. There’s also a campground located nearby.

Terramar Beach — This is a hidden, quaint beach that is a favorite among local surfers. This is a great beach for those who want to get away from the normal city hustle and bustle.
