Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

torreypines-minWhen you live in a city with great weather year-round, you tend to spend a lot of time outside enjoying the beauty of nature. What’s so special about the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, you ask? It may be easier to describe what ISN’T special. Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is truly a masterpiece of nature! Hike the rocky trails and come out on a scene so breathtaking, you will have to pinch yourself to make sure this isn’t a dream. The rocky cliffs and hills give way to the sight of the Pacific Ocean stretching out for miles in front of you. The visitors center, where you can get a list of trails and more in-depth information about this wonderland, is located inside an adobe building that was built in 1923 as a restaurant; no glass and metal monstrosity here!

In the spring, the beauty of the reserve increases. Our California wildflowers will add to the dream. Everywhere you turn you will see red, yellow, purple, and orange flowers nodding in the breeze. The park is for day use only, but you may find yourself wishing you could stay here—right in this spot where the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and the sights and sounds of the Pacific Ocean are speaking to your soul—forever. We’ve traveled all over the world and have never seen a landscape as perfect as Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve in the spring.
